Fees 2025/26

20/02/2025

The Conservators of the River Cam have determined that fees for 2025/26 will increase by 5.1% as per the agreed fees policy.

The Conservators understand that the current closure of the locks at Baits Bite and Jesus Green are an inconvenience to some river users, and work to repair the lock islands and reopen the locks has been a priority since the initial closure.

Works to the lock island at Baits Bite are underway and are programmed to be complete in the summer of this year, which will permit the reopening of Baits Bite lock.

Conservators must retain revenue streams and evidence financial prudence in order to resolve current issues and mitigate the possibility of future issues with infrastructure.

We are working closely with Local Authorities, the Environment Agency, and discussing ways forward with government to seek alternative sources of funding for infrastructure maintenance and repair in order to ensure we can keep this critical navigation open and safe for all users.

The Conservators will be undertaking a full review of fees during 2025.
